          Shake him off then take the fish off the stringer and place him back into the waters edge. Snake is not leaving and he'll be back on the fish in a couple minuets, its always worked for me. Sometimes the fish is too big for them and they give up after a couple hours. I fished a small narrow creek on the deer lease, Tarkington Bayou. You leave a fish on a stringer in the water you'll have a water snake latched on to it.
