    Alaskan King Crab

My son's birthday is Wednesday and he wants King Crab for dinner. I am either going to cook them at home or go out.
Does anyone know the best place to buy them or a good place to go eat them for dinner that will not break the bank?

Prefer to cook myself. Was thinking of placing a whole one on his plate.

South Austin area or San Marcos.

    Thanks

Get a whole Alaskan red king crab shipped overnight to your door! We offer free shipping on all orders over $100. Each red king crab weighs 5-5.9 lbs each and is fully cooked and flash-frozen.

I can help but not real quick. I have some contacts on crab boats in alaska. The reason the price is so high right now, is because the season just started like 2 days ago. Everything anyone has is left over. Wait till the end of this month and if your still interested i can try to help you.

I'd suggest just doing them yourself.
We do them for our small families Thanksgiving every year as a tradition and it's always bad *** and way more economical.
We've gotten them from Quality seafood as well as HEB (also in ATX) and never been disappointed.

                  This recipe is delicious.
I have tried and tried again to re-create the garlic butter crab legs that taste like the crabs from my favorite crab joint-The Crab House on Pier 39

Never purchased King Crab from Quality Seafood but the Oysters and Shrimp have been great.

I am assuming you do this recipe with frozen crabs? Do you let them thaw out before baking?
                            Thanks
