Casey, those are some awesome pictures. We just got back from Utah and took the time to visit Zion. We took a one year old with us so Angel's landing was out of the question. We plan to go back next summer.

We stayed in Brian Head and absolutely loved the weather while we were there. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip.

The 27th was the day we would hit Bryce Canyon. We left Zion and stumbled upon these residents on the way out of the park.

We shot them for a bit, took in some other sights and made our way to Bryce. After checking in and eating a bite, we headed into the park for sunset. What a fantastic place this is. I really want to hit this one again as well. We didn't take much time to explore it but it is one impressive canyon.

While out on this ledge, I managed to mishandle my 16-35 f2.8L lens and dropped it into the canyon. It blasted down the canyon, tumbling, bumbling and parts flying everywhere. It slammed into a rock about 300' down. It's gone.

Bryce is a neat place that, if anything, is a bit tricky to shoot. It's just so impressive you don't know where to point your camera!

Bryce is a really unique place. It's gorgeous.

We were there in April and it was in the 20s at night.

Awesome shots Casey, maybe you and Michael should publish your work into a book. Excellent work.

Thursday we hooked it to Torrey to visit Capitol Reef National Park. This is a very cool park. I'd like to spend more time there getting lost. The rocks and stuff within this park are something to behold. We took a late afternoon drive through the park and caught more great light. I'm really happy with some of these images. Prints are due in tomorrow so we'll see how well they come out on paper!

How long do you think it will be before the face of this cliff comes down along that gigantic crack? Tomorrow? Ten years? 1000 years?

One of the coolest things about visiting these places is looking at the "photos" left behind by folks that were there hundreds or thousands of years before us.

Great pics Casey. I remember going thru Bryce and Zion. Brings back the memories from 1982. I think of the film Jeremiah Johnson, when seeing the Zion pics you posted. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shots Casey and an even better family vacation. That is certainly a beautiful part of the country for sure with tons of photo opportunities.
