The warmer temps the last few days got me thinking about fishing too . I need to find a foot controlled bow mount TM before long. Maybe a Terrova I-Pilot or Power Drive II with I-Pilot so I can spot-lock. Was hoping they would come out with an Ulterra in 55lb thrust for us old folks who have kinda stiff back and joints. That way I could auto deploy from the back of the boat, steer, and fish, without having to get up and go to the front each time, and bend over. Looking at the 55lbs so I can keep the weight down too, with just one battery. I've got a 55lb Water Fowl Edition that has served me well. But it is a pain to handle mounted on the front while fishing. I can't stand up for very long periods of time any more.

I did buy an Ulterra 80 last spring. Had it a month. Never took it out of the box. Then got to thinking about how much it weighed. And then having to have two batteries to run it. More weight than I wanted. So I took it back for a refund. Wish they would offer a 55lb Ulterra. I'd be living a dream then.

Well I didn't manage a buck this year … probably didn't help that my give a crap was much lower than normal lol. Maybe a doe tomorrow after that I won't be back from work before the end of season. Either way I'm not overly concerned there's still pigs to satisfy my hunting desires. Happy New Years everyone

Yeah I have a few packages of fish left and I'll be out. Need to restock bad. Good on pork but going to try to get at least one more. If I could just get a doe before it's over!
All I saw today was a broke off 4 point that I've seen a few times before. Thanks for the heads up.

Apparently the local processors have seen record low deer numbers this year. I would've loved to get a doe but my season is over now. I don't come back till 2 days after season. Here's hoping you get one switchback gl to all that are hunting

How are the hogs out at Whitney? I've seen some signs in the areas I've been hunting, but haven't actually seen any yet.

All of the pigs on COE land near Kopperl seem to be nocturnal. I have seen 4 BIG hogs at a distance in EARLY morning hours on the way to the stand but have never seen one in bow range during daytime.

While doing some scouting at Aquila last week, we walked upon a big herd of pigs that were in search of acorns and pecans at about noon.

Nice smally Carlock! I've only caught one. And that was below the Grandbury dam back in the early 1990s while striper and sandbass fishing. Weighed 4-1/2lbs.

Thief caught at Steele Creek.

I had 4 hogs pinned and had been feeding them out until the Friday before New Years. Three months of feeding. I went to check on them about 11:45 that morning and discovered no hogs and blood all over the pin.

Short version, since the blood was really fresh my wife and I got license plate numbers at the boat ramp and turned them over to the Sheriff's Deputy and the Game Warden and in less than an hour later they had the guy with a full confession.

Turns out one was killed and the rest turned loose.

Some very good work by the Sheriff's department and our Game Warden.

Thanks, guys.

Glad they got caught Coop! Hope they pay for it too. I'd like to know more about who it was when we get together again. No telling what all they know about your place now. Maybe time fore some surveillance cams.
Maybe if your lucky the two hogs will come back so you get a shot at them.

Glad you made it home Strom. I drove home from Beach and I-30 this afternoon.
