Don't understand the point of it, random people watching your videos? Do you get something if you go "viral"?

Every video ever posted anywhere is watched by “random people.”

Sharing videos is just sharing the experience with others.

Apparently the top handful of people on the app get paid thousands of dollars for videos they post. There are teenagers on there being paid 5-10k for a short video to plug random products.

I told my wife if the oilfield doesn’t improve I was going to be a tik tok artist.

Yea there is money to be made if that’s your angle but the majority of people don’t have any interest in watching other people sell products... so for the most part people just upload videos of their music, dances, arts/crafts, and for showing your skills as a way to self advertise...

We have almost 170K followers on TikTok and have been approached by many companies to add their products to our videos or musicians pay us to use their songs, but we keep saying no... most these companies have certain ways they want you to advertise and as a “creator” of videos I don’t want to lose my freedom of how we make our videos... anyway just throwing that out there for those of you that wanted to know more about how it all works

We as in our photo/video company - TAG Outdoors

Respect this decision, glad there are still people who won't sell their soul for a little cash. Keep up the great work, you really are talented.

I actually saw that one the other day, very cool video. As for TikTok itself, I doubt I'll ever post a video but there is a lot of comedy posted there. You can definitely go down a worm hole and lose an hour.

It is owned by the Chicoms, there is speculation that they are using tiktok to train their ai's for facial recognition.

I only have instragram thanks to TBH sucking me in on that one. I have been seeing this TIK TOK format in China for many years now.(different name though). They would literally leave the factory and go home and binge out on it for hours. When I saw the first commercial for TT I was like sum ***** ...its here now.

Cool video by the way.

Soooo Backstory... my wife and I are Photographers and Video-ographers in the “Outdoor Industry” and we own TAG Outdoors, which we are often hired for photo/video work on Game Ranches so they have content to post to their social media accounts and for advertising/website stuff.
That being said, we showed up at this Ranch and was about to get on foot and start walking around doing our thing and the Ranch Manager was like.... ohhh nooo you cant do that in certain places... we have a Bull Elk that’s CRAZY! I’m like.... How Crazy!? He said, get in the Mule and I’ll show you! Oh and get your phone ready to record this... now he has my attention and I’m like what the hell is gonna happen... he said I don’t know but sometimes he charges me when I’m trying to fill feeders and one day I just stuck on top of the feeder for 2 hours until he finally ran off!! Needless to say there was something clearly wrong with this Bull... so as you see in the video we got somewhat close and I got off the Mule to get a few photos, as I was doing that the ranch Manager was turning the Mule around so it was already facing back in the direction we came from... I said man is that necessary, you’re starting to scare me... and as I turned back around to get a little closer that big *** Bull turned and looked at me and I swear to God I didn’t think I was gonna be able to get back in that Mule fast enough.... He was FAST!!!! I was using a 400mm lens. I was 100 yards away and it was like 2 seconds and he was 5 feet from the back of that Mule.... he ended up calming down and I got some cool photos of him but they ended up finding him Dead in the Pasture 2 weeks later... they think he had rabies or something! Either way it was WILD!!!

As far as the platform TikTok... I never understood it and didn’t want to, but social media is everything for marketing these days.
This past wknd we had zero plans and the weather was crap and the wife and I downloaded the app and started scrolling.... SIX HOURS later and SORE ABS from so much Laughter we decided that we might as well post some of our crazy video shenanigans.... still not knowing or understanding how it works, but yes that App is a Worm Hole! You can lose HOURS of your life watching that stuff but to be honest about 90% of it is pure comedy!!!!

Social media free since the beginning of the year, but have been on bow hunter a LOT more. I only had FB. Don’t miss it. My 11 year old wants TikTok, but I just got her a phone and have it locked down pretty hard. She’s also social media free.

Both of those showed up on my FYP the other day. Cool videos for sure, I like most of the outdoor and animal videos.

Like others have said, TikTok is a great way to loose a few hours. Lots of funny clips. Some of the stuff is pretty raunchy though.
