Help wiring elec motor w dpdt switch...

To reverse the motor on my disc sander when needed. I think I have tried everything I know how to do 10 times and have used every cuss word I know at LEAST that many times! Been messing with it for 3 hours tonight and have had enough![emoji35]

I have it wired in the 1st pic and it works, just cant reverse the motor...anyone know how I'd wire this dpdt switch in??

Thanks for any help you can give!

does it say on the nameplate it is non reversible? is it a cap start?

check this out.....easier than explaining and snipping the images

I'm not sure you can. What is the voltage and phase ?

Usually on 120v motors, you need to swap 5 and 8 to reverse rotation

Thanks guys! I figured out about the only way to do it is to use a drum switch

            Thanks!

I cannot start a new thread since I'm a new member. So I apologize for posting this question here.

I bought and installed a new 1.5kw water-cooled spindle with an inverter to run it. Now whenever I switch the spindle on, it triggers my limit switches (in Mach3) and I can only reset it when the spindle is not running.

I'm virtually at a standstill. Any help?

Spindle and limit switch wiring is all shielded and properly grounded.

Did it work/run before the change?

It did not. This is a new setup that I'm trying to troubleshoot.

Yes, that motor is probably reversible, but need to see wiring diagram. Oh, I see you figured it out.

Limit switches are configured as normally closed. My understanding was that will prevent electrical interference from generating false triggers.

I wired limit switches as normally opened just to test with the same result.
