Man we are having a rough time seeing that activity around the vine. Finally got on good deer sign today. All of the east side of 377 is still under water. Creek is still up to banks. Prob done over 10 miles of boots on ground all over east and west sides in the last 3 days . My feet are shot. Taking a break tomorrow and hunting out by maybank. We Will be back out here Saturday. I'm worn out

Lol. Figures. We saw a pile of 7 does just outside the boudry of a core land access. They stood at 15 yards all just staring at us as if they knew.

I know that feeling, I did about 8 miles with my stand and pack Wednesday. Still feeling a little sore. Reminds me I need to get in better shape before I start going after elk next year. Been hit and miss on seeing deer movement the last few days for me. Gonna take a break and check out Whitney for a week. Good luck yíall.

Well, 8th year in a row that I haven't been drawn and didnt get redraw. But, as you can see, I am blessed! Was finally able to get a lease again and got my biggest buck with a bow after 40 years of hunting.

He had been gut shot and would have died a miserable death. I put an arrow in him and he expired in 40 yards.

Hes not a trophy for all, but for where I hunt, in cisco, and the situation, he is a trophy in my book.

Good luck to all out there. Would think, with high water, if you find a good pinchpoint, you could really see alot of deer.

I'm out on the redraw this year but I've been getting on some pretty good bucks at LBJ. I shot a good buck Friday night with my bow but couldn't recover him. Tracked blood for about 150 yards and then dried up. Bucks were running does all over the place out there.

Anyone done any duck hunting on grapevine this year with all the flooding? Any idea about a good place to put a boat in?

Didn't see much movement on Monday, except for a trophy squirrel. At least a couple of pounds. Heading out tomorrow to freeze.

You wont be the only one tomorrow

I think someone got something recently, there was hair on the ground in the parking lot. I'm hoping to put the smack down on a slammer in the A.M.

May as well pack it in folks. Horrible time to hunt out there.

On a serious note... good luck fellas. Get creative with your access. Extraordinary effort yields extraordinary results. And if youíre setup 30 yards from some other dude, youíre probably not going to extraordinary lengths

They woke up and just kind of stood there at 10 yards. Must of been a good sleep. All of them black.

I had a good sit this evening. Lot's of movement, but no sign of rutting action.

Who lost the deer off 377 today. Bunch of guys looking for something.

I saw one of the largest bodied deer of my life today. Walking 25 yards off 1171 in a pasture. Not much of a rack, but the old boy was pushing 250lbs.
