Beat this list from the 80s. Best record released in the decade.

      AC DC
      Van Halen
      Judas Priest
      Iron Maiden
      Ozzy
      Dio
      Metallica
      Slayer
      Megadeth
      Def Leppard
      Scorpions
      Motley Crue

      That's 12.

      Beastie Boys
      Geto Boys
      NWA

It's really not close at all.

RR had the opportunity to be one of the greatest guitar gods ever...I always wished I could have seen where he & jimi would have gone on a long career that got cut short.

                No doubt.

I will add SRV and Double Trouble to the 80s widening the gap.

SRV like ozzy & ac/dc had glory days in the 80's but still pre-date the 80's...bet he didn't have chin whiskers in 78. Another taken too early.

SRV & Jimi have better knock off's imo but give credit where credit is due...

Buddy of mine was just telling me the other day that RR played for Quiet Riot before Ozzy. Never knew that.

The 70's had the best of everything. There is not even a close 2nd! Crazy how some of my friends and coworkers were just talking about this last week. From TV commercials to TV shows, fast food, chain restaurants, clothes, hair styles, automobiles, America in general, and especially music from blues to rock and country the 70's were the ultimate time to be alive.

**** I miss those great times!
