They are one of the worlds most deadly spider bites. Venom is very very lethal. However, they're mouths are so small, they can not bite a human. Fleas are a favorite food. But will eat other similar sized insects.

I don't even recall seeing black daddy long legs like the ones in the picture. The ones I see around the house are usually a reddish or brown color. I caught one yesterday to show my son they are harmless. He still flipped out when we let them crawl all on our hands. lol
