My youngest son drew his first TPWD draw hunt this year and he ended up shooting his first deer ever. We had a blast on this hunt and I can’t say enough good things about TPWD and the biologist that ran the hunt.
We hunted in compartment 9 and it was a quick hunt for us as we corned the area after orientation, then went to grab some lunch, got back to the blind around 3:15 and he shot right at 4:00. She didn’t go but about 30 yards and piled up in some thick brush.
She weighed 75 lbs field dressed and the biologist aged her at 6.5 years old.
