Default Welder Skid

Bought a new welder to n January. Finally got some time to swap the new welder to my skid. Of course the new welder didn’t fit on my skid. So decided to start over.

Cut some WT for the skid to sit on. 3” channel to bolt the welder to.

2” squar

2” square tubing risers between the machine and bottles

Got the mount for the acetylene bottle done. Will be back at it tomorrow.

Had a 22” piece of 10” pipe that I cut into 4, 5 1/2” pieces for the bottle racks.

Looks like it will work. Now please put a guard on that grinder.

Nice work, I like a skid better than a trailer. That being said you can always put the skid on a trailer.

Thanks and yes the skid works great on a truck, a trailer or on the forks of a tractor.

Good job

Did you weld something across the bottom of the bottle holder rings?

What keeps them from sliding through if not?

Yes. Should have taken a picture of that. A piece of 2” flat bar across the middle of the pipe.

thats a cool build. question, would fork pockets be safer traveling in field on forks to keep it on forks and not sliding around / off?

I’ve never had a problem with it sliding around. I have to pull my forks in a few inches for it to fit, so there is not much room to slide around.
