Default Free beekeeping class

I just saw a free beekeeping class for beginners. There have been several threads on TBH about beekeeping, so thought someone might be interested. I would like to get some bees myself to qualify for an Ag Exemption.

It is through Penn State

I know Fayette county has a beekeeping association with periodic meetings and classes. I was signed up for the March class that was cancelled due to Corona Light.

You should have 60 days to complete. I am halfway through it now.

I registered last evening and got through to 2.1, even passed my quiz. Very, very interesting and I look to having my own bees.

If you go to the main page there are several other free classes, but you have to register by the 10th. Since you have 60 days of access I signed up for a few that interest me.

Finished the first bee module this morning at about 4am while tending to the smoker.

I think the Ag exemption is linked to owned acerage.

I own 6.6 acres, but it hasn't been in ag. I believe you have to have at least 5 acres.

NET 5 acres... If you have 5 and a house, you'll fail to qualify, as the homestead part doesn't count. I'm on a hair under 5 acres where I live and I couldn't qualify. You'll need 5.5+. That's at least in my county.

I would guess I have three total hours in it. The last part is graded. You get three tries.
