What to treat open trailer boards with?

I just power washed all the gunk of my 11 yr old big Tex. What is a good sealant to put on it after it dries out? Used motor oil? Linseed oil? Cabot deck stain? I keep it stored outside.

I put a coat of used motor oil on mine each year. Works a lot better than Thompson's junk.

Motor oil on mine as well. I've tried just about every thing else.

Does oil make the boards slick when wet? Are commercial sealants easier to walk/drive on?

Cheapest hydraulic oil you can find and kerosene...50/50 mixture. Use a cheap sprayer with a little thinner mixture to spray the bottom of the boards if possible and then a heavy nap roller on the top. If you can get 2 coats a day in between of each other then Bob’s your uncle.

Oil via old rag ziptied to piece of conduit

They’ll be slick when wet for a few months.

Spray down on top and bottom with diesel.
The board rot out from the bottom up so soaked the bottom down good.
You could always do some cheap roll-on bedliner on the top for traction.

I used old motor oil as well but it does make them slick

If those boards are 11 years old just keep doing what you are doing.

I'd start with that shiner the guy in the picture is holding and then grab him a beer that's worth drinking.
