Y'all are missing the big picture. It's ain't about be manly and using a straw or not. It about the overreaching Government in our everyday lives. Let them take our straws, we don't use them. Let them Outlaw 32oz drinks, and sugar sodas. No big deal. Let them Outlaw our guns.......WAIT WHAT?

It all happens in baby steps. Plastic straws are now deemed bad by leftist wackos. More cities and states will ban them.

Sure I don't care about straws either, but I care about my freedom! If I want to use a straw, I don't want anyone telling me I can't. Same with my guns.

Yep I donít even use straws in restaurants. But itís the knee jerk reactions without facts that bothers me. Iím hearing someone requesting a straw and being told no because itís bad and a health hazard - the straws are now only for children and if requested. So they have them but would not give them to the adult. Itís just asinine!

With all the manly talk on straws I did want to add that’s the person asking was an older female

There were to go orders going out in stryofoam and plastic containers so in the area they were making money I guess sacrificing the environment is ok.

This i agree. Herpes is real...

We were in Cabo a few months ago and no straws to be found. Signs about it everywhere.

I get it people. I can’t get around the germs. But I’ll eliminate as much as I possibly can. The plate is probably the cleanest piece considering I never see people licking their plates after a meal.

Take your own straw with you. You worry about drinking out of the glass you better worry about the dirty half washed utensils your putting in your mouth.

I bet you have some cash in your wallet. Odds are 30 percent of all dollar bills have seen a g string sometime in their lifetime. You use cash to pay for your nuggets then dip them in the sauce with your hands. You want to worry about germs, think about all the guys who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom touching all the doorknobs and handles you touch.

Well the good news is most restaurants wipe off the menus once a month with a nasty rag weather they need it or not. Just something else for the germaphobes to think about.
Oh, and same goes for salt and pepper shakers and whatever else is on the table. Enjoy your meal!

Cash is king...Never get discounts using plastic

As far as being a germophobe of some type. I am in a way also...I always grab the less worn areas of the doors I enter if they have a bar type handle. Examine silverware and condiments before I eat at a restaurant. The good ones get return business. You need some kind of germ intake to build up a resistance to any bad germ that might enter your body. If you keep using Purell ect, you kill the good germs also. There needs to be a balance, because you can never avoid others peoples funk, no matter how hard you try. A sneeze carries way father than you think. Door knobs/handles, steering wheels, locks, keys, keyboards, drawer handles, pens ect...
The only way to avoid all germs is to live in a bubble.

What about buffet lines and the tongs that are laying in the food that everybody in the restaurant has touched with their dirty banana peelers..

I'm the same way, but look up the oligodynamic effect. Metals such as silver, copper, brass, etc. can disinfect themselves over a few hours.

Never eat at a food line unless you are first in line. Refuse - I don’t even like most weddings that have a line. Clean spoons, fork, knives with alcohol napkins you carry. Order beer in bottle or from bar as most bartenders wipe glasses before use. Work in restraints for about 10 years. Nice upper end. Still nasty
