One person I know is about to retire from the same agency pretty soon. I will sick him on him right before he retires if its not returned by then. But then I risk that person using it to skin his quail.

Sounds to me like he just legitimately keeps forgetting about it. No reason to think he is trying to keep it after he went out of his way to track down the owner. Most folks would have just kept it. I know I am very busy and sometimes simply am at work for all of the hours that the post office is open every day. If it isn't sitting on the counter for me to think about, it will never even cross my mind. It is a blessing and a curse.

That's what I am thinking as well. Just kind of frustrating

Dang nice knife! I would get your friend that is retiring to ping this guy ASAP. I don't buy that the guy is just busy. Especially if he initially tried to do the right thing and now he's being VERY hard to get ahold of, put it out there, he should have returned it as quickly as he found out someone DOES own it and has mis-placed it.

I would stop tip toeing around, he might be hoping you leave it alone. It is a very nice knife.

Maybe a TBHer in Madisonville can make arrangements to go pick it up today. At his house. With the sheriff as an escort. (Well, maybe on the last part.)

If the guy you know is on KMA time he will get it back.

If I was someone who worked for the same agency the guy in possession did, He'd get tired of hearing his name come from me and he'd be getting it back to you. Its been 2 months.

Stop being a broke D and get it done

I work in Conroe and live in Centerville. I drive through Madisonville Monday-Friday to get back and forth to work. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

I had a pair of my best friends sunglasses in my truck for almost a dang year. Finally remembered when we were hunting to give them to him. I honestly just kept forgetting and when I remembered I wouldn’t be able to get free. I would bet he is probably in the same situation and just hasn’t been able to remember at the right time or break free.
