    No sb for chap archery

Just saw on Facebook that chap is not drawing any sb for the archery hunts. No survival fawn crop I guess.

Yep seen that last night. Awful sad about it, but I certainly understand.

If these WMA's culled deer at the same rate that the biologists recommend for private land, there'd be a whole lot more permits. TP&W personnel kill a bunch themselves in my opinion.

Yes, no reason as few animals as truly get harvested by the drawn hunters every year that there are not tons of animals running on that WMA

I asked Chap about stand bys last week. They said it was unlikely this year. Mainly due to earlier drought and heat.

The lack of fawn survival(14%) this year will affect the hunts 4 years from now.

Powderhorn will only draw 1 card this year for each hunt.

South Llano river State Park will not have stand by positions.

Good news is, I get to increase my vacation time accrual at work and cash out when I retire next year.

Several WMAs we go and try standby draw 1 card

Luckily my boss will let me put in for time and if I don't get drawn I can work and save the time for later

We share a fence with the chapparal. We had over 60% fawn crop and they had 14%.

Do they not supplement at all?

Something tells me one of those numbers is wrong. Can’t imagine that big of a difference created by a fence.

And they are only drawing 1 card for the GDE hunt on Dec 12-16

Different management practices and more predator control on our side. Fwiw, our fawn crop was a little down also.

                              I don't believe they do.
