    Eric Corrina got me thinking

He uses CLR to clean his rifles with. Removes Carbon.

I just recently acquired an inline muzzleloader. Muzzleloader have carbon.....

Has anyone tried CLR to clean their muzzleloader?

I wouldn't use it on a blued gun. Stainless might work good. I personally use ammonia. Just have to rinse good with hot water and oil before putting it up.

CLR will take the bluing off of a carbon steel barrel.

Hot water and Dawn followed by Bore Butter while the barrel is still warm. It will season the barrel like you season a cast iron skillet. You’re welcome.

I always used windex with vinegar. Takes it right out and you can get it at Walmart

I have heard, CLR will take bluing off, don't want to find out the hard way.

Even the bluing off of a BCG?
              Are they even blued?

                Not on carbon steel !!!!!!!!!!!!
SS is OK but don't leave it on there very long.

I have used on my stainless barrel before. Once done I run water down the barrel to rinse out and a couple patches of oil. I only use it when needed in drastic situations like a carbon ring

I also would not use it on a nitride finish.
