    Shout Out to Blood-Sport

My Nana passed away in October. We’ve been slowly cleaning out her house and preparing for an estate sale and eventual sale of her home. She lived 5 hours away in Big Spring, so it hasn’t made this part any easier. She was very organized but had a ton of stuff that you tend to accumulate over 88 years on Earth.

This past weekend while cleaning out her garage I found a beat up Rolex. All of her good jewelry and watches were where you’d expect them to be so I immediately thought this watch was fake. Things can get lost and get away from people though so I wanted to be sure. I’m not a “watch guy” and know nothing about them. I recalled some threads about blood-sport being the go to guy for watches on TBH. I told my mom and my sister that I “had a guy” and found a thread on TBH. I sent him a message with a couple of pictures. He responded timely and asked me to text him better photos which I did when I had time. He confirmed it wasn’t genuine and explained why. I greatly appreciated his time and attention. While we did get a sweet garage find, it’s nice to rely on the TBH brain trust again. If you’ve got a watch question, don’t hesitate to reach out to him.

Thanks for the post brother, this could have gone the other direction.

A barn find 1970’s Rolex could be worth 100k or more!!!

You just never know but giving it a solid look is key.

    All the best

This is great to know. My grandfather has a rolex that has set in the safe for over 30 years. My father has no interest in it, but I certainly do. Going to ask eventually if I can have it and see about getting it working again.
