Underwoods has the worst bbq I have ever eaten, I walked out it was so bad

Been to Underwoods - It was ok but not looking for a huge get stuffed meal.

Will be in Brownwood tomorrow with the wife. Any good hole in the wall places to eat lunch at?

Underwood's is way over rated. I would go with Humphrey Pete's in Early.

I live in Brownwood. I would stay away from La Bontana, their customer service stinks. I would say Studebakers, the Runaway Train is excellent as well. If you go to the lake Corninas has great mexican food or if you want BBQ stop at Smittys.

Smitty's was the best in town 45 years ago and probably still is best bbq. Old gentleman that owned it then was one good cook and have heard kids and grandkids are just as good. I remember his bbq well and he had arms like Popeye.

We ended up at Studebakers because it had parking for my trailer. Pretty dang good! Loved the french fries and whatever they had on the roll was tasty. Gravy was good. DP wasn't near as good as Storms but could have been an off day. Chicken strips and steak strips were pretty good also.

I'd go back again.
