This old rope

Linemen use it for pulling wire, then usually throw it on the ground and drive off when they are done. It's good stuff.

Oh heck I use it at work too. We call it mule tape. If that rope was originally white then it’s the same stuff.

I have one hanging that was made in the 1800's from hemp fibers. Looks ready to come apart.

I am reluctant to use the word, awesome, because it is so overused in my opinion. But that is one incredible and awesome story! Thanks for sharing it. I wouldn’t put in a keepsake case, seems to me God may be telling you that that rope isn’t done.

Handiest stuff to keep in a truck tool box. I think the breaking strength is about 1800 lbs. Good stuff!

Have used just 1 strand of mule tape to pull out my buggy, 4 wheeler, and doubled it once and pulled my Tacoma out of a hole.

Never thought to braid it. Bet it’s a STRONG mother sucka!!!

I need to get to making ropes. I was given a spool of tape. Use the stuff all the time.
