I’ve never killed a monster and now I’m all about my two kids.

My best bow buck is a mere 145” buck from Hood County.

I haven’t shot a whitetail while hunting with bow or rifle since 2009.

My boys best is a 120 from the PK area.

My daughter took her first on December 26, 2022.

She’s looking for some antlers in 2023!

The first one is my largest scoring low fence deer to date, 159". The second was my first big deer down in SETX, an 8 that scored 148". Both deer were killed down in SETX. I have killed 6 down in SETX that scored 136" or larger. I actually killed another one that had he not had 3 broken tines would've been my largest score wise but he ended up at 146" with about 15-16 inches of tine missing.

167 1/8…This is a HF buck but he’s my biggest and my first hunt with my grandfather’s old rifle. It was stolen and missing for 20 years. He got a call one day that the serial number popped up in a pawn shop. Once he got it back he re-blued the gun, refurbished the stock and gave it to me. It’s a deer I will never forget

Val Verde co. With the lower right being the only one that was scored. We try to manage the herd but it’s tough. Been on this same lease for 30 years. Great landowners which are also great people and friends. Few very fortunate.

hey man - a trophy is in the eye of the beholder - guy told me years ago that the goal should be to take the best deer that the area you hunt is capable of producing. that is a very nice deer and you should be proud of it - now the goal should be how to go get a bigger one - that is the beauty of trophy hunting IMO
