Took gaming management in college and toured casinos, horse tracks and dog tracks. This isnít intended to be a knock on anyone on this thread but itís laughable that gamblers think they are actually making money long term on anything outside of dog races and poker and thatís only if you really understand those two options. Any other type of play for any period of time and you are losing. The only exception to the rule is the lighting strike lottery winner where a slot pays someone a mega payout and they stop gambling after that. Truth is truth regardless of anyoneís opinion on regulations etc. no judgement here for those who enjoy it and would otherwise blow the money on a good hunt or something but if youíre spending legitimate cash you hope to increase to pay for a debt or future retirement, please seek help.

This is true.
But nothing wrong with people who gamble for fun trying to increase their odds. And that includes avoiding worse odd games etc. Which is why I'm curious about player cards etc.

If my $200 can last just a few hours longer that would be great LOL

Went to Vegas about 6 months ago with my wife, and nearly all the games I can afford are all automated. And then a $10 craps table now is changed, blackjack is changed, and nearly all table games have changed to give more odds to the house. Even downtown, it's hard to find a straight up $10 blackjack table.

I personally am skeptical about electronic gaming
But my uncle Hank and aunt Vicky love it and claim to be winning
They must be high roller’s because when they moved from Texas to Mississippi, they lived @ three different casinos in biloxi Ms till they closed on their new place
Rooms, breakfast, dinner, drinks
And claimed to be cleaning house @ the tables and slots
They did say they had entertained friends and family who had all been fleeced because they didn’t follow the system
I still don’t understand how they got lodging, booze, breakfast, and walked away not broke?

We like to gamble a lot. My wife plays the slots and I only play the table games.

The house has the odds. The house advantage varies game to game but the house always has the odds.

If you play any game long enough you will lose. That's a function of statistics. If you believe anything else then you don't understand statistics.

Very true.

Another variable many don't think about is even when a player wins; often the casino is not paying out true odds.

For example, a roulette wheel has 38 numbers including the zero and double zero. If you hit a number, the typical payout is 35 to 1; not 38 to 1. The house actually retains a percentage of what should be your true winnings. Most bets on the Craps table are paid out in similar fashion, which is why the Odds bet behind the pass line or laying odds behind the Don't pass is so popular. True odds are actually paid on these bets.

The wife and I hit the casinos a couple times per year. We consider it entertainment and never gamble more than the bank roll we show up with. If we leave down, we just chalk it up to paying for some entertainment, just about like any other form of entertainment that is not free.

Also, just about anyone that says they "broke even" in reality, probably was down $300-$500.

This is basically us, I don't go to movies, concerts, etc....and we go for pure entertainment and to kill time and leave when we lose our $200 or like this past week we left up $800, $700 and $500 and one day lost $300 which included our free play money. We were up over what we left with but played it down some to see if we could add to it. Some days out in 2 beers and other days we are there for 5 hrs getting up and down and never knock it out of the park but stay in there killing time and hoping to hit. Month or so ago at Border casino my wife hit 2 jackpots over $800 each within 5 minutes.....lady at Mega next to me told me week before she hit $36,000 on .88 bet and getting new windows in her house. Watch guy 2 games down from me at Winstar hit $12,000 on $1.76 bet and he had no idea how he did it, we did and told him what happened. In Shreveport older lady sitting right between wife and I hit $10,000 on .88 bet and acted like no big deal, I said that to her son sitting behind her and he said she had hit 4 or 5 that year can't remember exactly.

My buddy hit $15,000 at Mega on a $3.52 bet and had no clue how it happened on Pig machine few months ago.

FYI, free crab at Winstar generally ends up not being free.......

Only machine that you can count on paying is the ATM

We are leaving Coushatta Lake Charles now. We covered the cash we brought with, but not the room. They only comped our room twice, figured out we werenít big spenders and that gravy train ended.
Using the cards is how I would guess they know our spend.
Wheel of fortune is our break even game.

Does the Livingston casino? Have lodging and serve adult drinks?

I haven't been in a casino since a trip to Vegas in 1989, where I lost about $500 total. I did win about $100 at the airport waiting to go home. My pockets were stuffed with quarters on the flight home.
I haven't been to a casino since, I figure I'm money ahead by not going.

This is what drives me crazy but it's their money. I play table games and very few slots only when the wife wants me to sit with her. Someone will Sit at the table games and ask how do you play this game. There are so many books, utubes and videos how to play and strategy on each games. If you going to play table games study it in and out before you go gambling. I saw this a couple of trips ago this young guy and his buddies sat down at ultimate Texas hold 'em. He was betting like $300 at a time. When he was dealt his first 2 cards and didn't like them he folded and he was telling his buddy to do the same thing He didn't even wait for the flop. My wife and I just looked at each other. What an idiot. They lost about 5 thousand in about 10 minutes and walked off. The dealer just shook her head and smiled.

No it doesn't have lodging and no adult beverages. They only have slots also and no table games. The slots are not even the same ones like in Louisiana and Vegas. They are bingo based games.

Coushatta and Lauberge is where we do the best.

Quick casino story Ė for those of you who listen to 7:40 AM out of Houston. They are currently running an ad for $1000 a free play at Coushatta if you win (8 lucky winnersI believe) - fill out the sweepstakes online on their webpage.
I filled this out a few years ago, hoping for some discounts on rooms and actually won $1000 in free play and 2 nights stay- thatís what got our Coushatta ball rolling. Out of the thousand dollars we came home with over $800. my system is not great but I donít come home empty-handed lol.

Theyíre running the ads right now . for those willing to gamble thereís nothing to lose on signing up.

I was never spammed because of it afterwards.

Not sure about the lodging but no alcohol at Livingston. They have coffee, cokes, and water.

Casino ?
Has anyone given the Horseshoe on Lake Charles a shot.
They evidently remodeled / restored the Isle of Capri and opened it as the Horseshoe- a Ceasars entertainment endeavor.
We noticed it was open when driving by last week and was curious about it.
