Not much of a race but did enjoy the track.
Will be interesting to see Russell in a real Merc next season- he's going to be stout. Would love for Perez to figure it out and have a proper 4 horse race for the title.

Fantastic race. Good for McLaren!
Max and Lewis battle just gets better and better with every incident. Love the hostility.

I guess Ricciardo gets to test drive Dale Earnhardts car now, I hope they at least do it on an oval and not road course.

Rather surprised but definitely agree Verstappen!
"Verstappen hit with 3 spot grid drop for Russia in a 4th night !!!"
It did not take the stewards long on that one.

I am happy for the papaya team.....seem like really good guys to be around. For Riccardo to smoke Verstappen off the lights out was truly a niiiice surprise. Too hold that pace was even a bigger delight .

I am so pumped for McLaren. It is going to be a lot of fun watching Russel race is a top car against Lando, Albon, and the Scarlett ladies.

Struggling with the RB penalty. Both guys had their elbows out and it caused a wreck, but how does Silverstone result in a 10s penalty and this a grid penalty and Bottas gets what a 5 place grid penalty for cause a wreck the DNF’ed a quarter of the grid? Starting to seem like these dang penalties are being done using a plink-o board.

Watching it now. Good so far. I miss the V-12's and V-10's. Also was wild to see an F1 car basically just get loose on a corner.

I also forgot how hard Senna's crash was. WOW.

P1 and P2 in Russia were all Merc......with my man Gasly hanging in 3rd.
Engine change for Verstappen places him last on the grid Sunday. Smart move as he had a 3 spot penalty anyway after Monza 2 weeks ago.

Whoa..........this was incredible stuff out of Russia. "100 race victories" for Hamilton and takes championship lead!!!! Verstappen 2nd from last place start. Norris raced his butt off but poor decisions at the end by him and the team!!!!
Formula 1 keeps on delivering every race........

I gotta agree that was an exciting last few laps. (The spoiler alert above kinda buzz killed the results for this day sleeper )

Stay out on slicks in the rain or pit and lose time. This strategy didn’t work out for the leader today, but did a few races back on World GP stage.

I was devastated for Lando. For the life of me I don’t know why he didn’t pit when Lewis did. Max did an outstanding job charging to 2nd from 20th.

Congrats to Lewis for hitting 100 wins!!

I am really, really looking forward to next season with all the newer drivers competing in relatively quick seats. I think it is going to be great with Russel, Norris, LeClerc, Albon, etc. all running together. I am also looking forward to seeing Bottas in a new seat and hopefully a bit more relaxed and what he can do.

Anyone going to COTA in a few weeks to see the F1 race?
Wow, I left it too late and the track is SOLD OUT (I did not know this was possible!).
Scalper tickets are danged expensive; I'll probably be watching from the usual couch spot.

Because of work, I can only go in Sunday. Waited for the GA Sunday only, but they sold out. No biggie, I’ve been several times already. And I really want to go next year to see the new cars.

Qualifying was interesting! Ferrari is very much trying to top McLaren this weekend. Gasly will start 4th tomorrow!!

Looking forward to battles between Verstappen and Bottas, LeClerc and Norris, Alonso and Hamilton, and Ferrari vs McLaren.

I'm happy with Bottas win!!!!
COTA is setup for big time race this year.......I can't wait!!!! The points are tight and Hamilton is going to be fired up to get back on top. Verstappen leads by 6 points for the championship but Hamilton owns COTA!!!! Gasly just never got going .

I know that early penalty was a pure momentum killer for Gasly. I really want to see him in a top car soon. Would be interesting to see him in Papaya should Danny Ric not improve?

The Hamilton x Perez battle was great. He straight pushed Perez off the track and Perez hung in there and took it back (without a penalty which is a feat for him haha).

Not sure what tickets usually go for, but here are 3 up for sale for $717.

I know nothing of the seller, just saw it and thought I’d pass it on - you never know.

Enjoy it, the NHRA event is a blast. I showed up without earmuffs, and it took one run of the non- top fuel cars before I went and overpaid for earplugs LOL

I wish the strip wasn't going away, we've been spending a lot of time lately out there on Friday nights.

Been many times over the years. I’m bummed it’s going away too. Had a blast at the races and have seen some great runs, some very comical crowd moments, and will have many good memories of the place long after it’s gone. Taking the family to this last race so they can experience the air shattering as 10,000hp send a contraption down the track at 330mph. Nothing like it on the planet!

F1 sure looks foolish making everyone on the track mask up when you can't spot one in the stands...

Looked like an awesome time!

Oscar, you hear any word on the F1 teams demanding the COTA track be smoothed out before next year’s race?

I watched on a motorcycle podcast where they claimed some of the Moto GP guys (teams) won’t be back unless some of the serious bumps in the track are smoothed out. COTA’s response was something to the effect of “we will see what the F1 team say about it” .

Smart move to box ahead of Hamilton early in the race. That threw off Mercedes and even though Hamilton seemed faster he just didn’t have enough laps to make use of it.
