Thanks for the photos, wish I would have been able to watch! I put it on the calendar for next year already.

Quite a few folks in the Tower Club with us had them on. With over 400k people on property over 3 days hopefully it won't be a problem.

Very little, which was odd after all the media speculation due to the Moto GP guys. Some teams totally downplayed it as part of the race. I do believe it will be addressed as the grand prix is a massive success with fans.

I must comnend COTA on pulling out all the stops!!!! It was super enjoyable, the fans were rocking, the drivers were cordial, and TEXAS DID IT BIG!!!!! Broke all F1 attendance records with over 400k folks!!! I can't imagine what Silverstone can do to claim their title back?

Just made a change for the Miami race. They have an option for a hospitality package at the start/finish line. I just snagged us two spots for May 8th, 2022 in the belly of the beast.

After the HUGE record breaking weekend I gotta believe that talk will melt away. Nobody even mentioned it around us. Also, this was on the back of the weekend calendar.

P1 and P2 in the books! Redbull is definitely quicker. I really like that city layout. Might need to add that to the list next year.

Mexico City is great, absolutely love my time there. The culture and food is wonderful and the city is old so lots to see. Adding a race to the trip would just take it from great to epic.

I wasn’t able to watch much FP or qualifying but very happy to see Pierre in P5. Checo has got to be loving the energy there this weekend. COTA was dang near a home race too and now to be in CDMX, great times for that guy.

Brazil is going to be downright insane. 4 races left and Hamilton must place above Max to stand a statistical chance of winning the championship. I hope my F1 TV works from this ground blind in Saskatchewan.....lol!!!

Lots of changes in the sprint with Ham/Merc getting penalized for drs issues in the wing plus engine penalties and Max getting slapped with a hefty fine for violating the staging rules. Im excited to see Gasly in P4 on the sprint and hopefully he can pick a spot or two up. Hoping Ham gets a stellar sprint finish and keeps things sporty for tomorrow!

You ain’t lying! Wow!!!

And that has to be the most expensive “oh shiny let me touch this” experience ever! $50k wow. Did you hear Seb on the grid after that “I think I’ll touch the front wing maybe that’s only $25k” hahaha.

Had to avoid all social media until this evening when I got a chance to watch. All I can say is these boys are getting after it, elbows out and I love it. What a race by Lewis! It was a perfect situation for him with the safety cars and like a pro he fully capitalized on the situation and his pace was amazing. That new motor was showing out! I was pretty bummed to see Lando with the lap 1 puncture though, he is a growing force to be reckoned with. Next year is going to be nuts!

Max just hit with 5 grid spot penalty. Bottas hit with 3 grid drop.
Gasly now in P2 and Alonso P3.........gonna be aggressive driving from Alonso. 3 races to the championship.

What a race, Hamilton just had blistering speed it’s amazing really. Max had really good pace and getting to P2 inside 5 laps shows his abilities as well but didn’t have the same wheaties Lewis did I guess. How about those punctures! I really wanted to see Lando up front as well but Alanso on podium was great. Checo would have been formidable if he’d qualified worth a dang. He was really great today as well.

It will be interesting to see if the merc engines can hold this pace. I was listening to some commentary on their units and it seems they fall off quite fast after a certain hour mark, I don’t remember what it was. Apparently they are .5-1 second slower at the end of their life which is why they have taken so many this year. Red Bull only has .1s between brand nee and replace. One of the engineers suspected they were running the engines the last two races in a higher output mode or setting which explains the pace but would further increase the rate of those losses.

Brazil and Qatar — has Hamilton gained that much pace with his new engine, or has Verstappen somehow lost pace? Or is it a combination of the two?

I have a feeling the championship will be down to the last few corners of the last race!

Wife of the year if she says yes! I can't believe that little punk just walked of the podium. I like aggressive racing, but he always seems to push it to the borderline of dangerous, and it is never his fault. He's the Kyle Bush of F1.

Last race of the year this weekend! Max and Lewis are tied.

No matter who wins, I feel grateful for a fantastic 2021 season. Great battles throughout the field and among the constructors. A LOT of entertaining races!

I have been avoiding social media and this thread until today because I just got to watch the race. What a crazy race!

I for one agree with Alonso that the red flag decisions seemed almost arbitrary and designed to give the most exciting race possible by F1. I was also a little blown away with some of the drivers behavior under the virtual safety cars. They were really really pushing the boundaries of the delta and Lewis was seemingly the most aggressive which from him is completely expected given the battle. Made for great viewing.

I have watched and read the commentary from the incident with Max and Lewis and I am thoroughly confused reading the stewards statement. The DRS zone was partly to blame bc neither driver wanted to be the first to go through the detection zone and then get immediately passed. I think the stewards tried to place as much blame on the drivers as possible but it was really their fault by not telling Lewis first and then Max. Lewis would have timed it to takeover just behind max and then fly by and of course Max is going to crowd it to the limit to slow Lewis on the overtake but it would have been clean.

Best season since Ive been interested - not even close.

I dont care for Max at all. I cant stand him really. He will absolutely cause something if things start to go poorly for him. That's just who he is.

Hopefully nobody is seriously injured. Hamilton is the only one willing to push him.

The divisions among the the TOP 2 are obvious and apparent! With this race coming down to Sunday I am having a bad feeling that someone will get hurt........or even killed in Abu Dubai! This mornings P1 and P2 were exciting and I cant wait until tomorrow as they will make some big changes to those cars before Sunday's race.

I heard they had major beef on and off the track.
Verstappen and Hamilton seem to be fine away from the circuit, but once the engines start "all bets are off" on how things will turn out.

I’ve heard tale of brawls between the two. Lauda and Hunt had a few scuffles back during their championship rivalry.

That reminds me of the ole WWE I grew up on , or todays swamp creatures posing as politicians. Fight in public, get along just fine otherwise.
Hopefully that’s the case with Hamilton and Max.

Sure not the way Mercedes wants to start tomorrow, that’s for sure. Stinking Dutchboy was fast in qualifying.
Here is my question to you F1 vets, I’ve only been watching for about 5 years. Is it a European thing or are the drivers, for the most part on good terms with each other. During the race they are talking trash and getting ****** at the other guys, but after the race all seems pretty cool. Max leaving the podium last week was like the biggest “slap in the face “ move of the season. I just don’t see how things don’t get more heated during or after the race. Not that I’m watching to see fist fights, I’m just surprised that it doesn’t happen every know and then.
Let’s go Lewis!

That tow move by RedBull drivers was a dang smart move. I was disappointed that Mercedes did not follow their lead. The commentator said Hamilton does not like doing that in qualifying......or something to that effect. I don't have issues with the tire choices for tomorrow as I know Mercedes can play that game very well.
I will say that Bottas and Perez did not place well on the grid. Perez did his job on the tow but his qualifying time was odd. Gasly did not get thru Q2. Norris in 3rd was awesome also.....I like his attitude and driving style.

Yes, fantastic job by Red Bull in qualifying. Perez never seems to qualify well, but usually makes up for it in the race.

A lot of the drivers are friends off the track. Many grew up together racing the lower formulas. But when the engines start, they are all competitors.

Hoping for a clean race tomorrow, and that Red Bull can carry todays momentum into it.
