    What's your choice?

300 Win Mag. You have a wide array of bullets to choose from, and readily available.

Probably have to agree with this especially if you are willing/capable of taking longer shots

300 WM without a doubt and don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

I built a 7 rem mag for this exact purpose killed one elk with it and a handful of hogs with no problems so far shooting 162 gr sst hand loads.

Hopefully will get to shoot some deer with it this year and a cow elk in December.

6.5x284 with 140's has work great for me with no issues. Mild recoil and easy recovery every time

I’ve killed all of mine dead with a 7mm remmy.

Furthest kill shots were 659 yards on Muley and 731 yards on elk.

                    .30 cal of something.

.300 win mag if you don't reload.

I have a .300 WSM, so that’s what I’d use. It has killed elk before so it’s capable.

Just a plain old 30-06 will work fine. Go bigger and hotter if you want.

300 Win to me is a top dog mainly due to ammo availability. Personally my choice would be a 280AI as I handload, but factory ammo is becoming more available.

I’ve used .270, .308 & 300 wm & felt very capable with either one of those choices, just like switching it up from time to time. Using Accubond bullets for each
