    thought id post a pic of the car my father built 1949 chopped top mercury it won good guys in California 2016 or 17 i never knew my father funny how we kind of chose the same paths

                            That brings back memories of my Dad too. He wanted a '49 Ford 5 window just before retirement back in the early 1990s. But all he found was a '51 Merc with the original flathead. It did have original glass. And most of the car including wheel covers. It had a huge backseat area. He drove it to work his last two years working. Then it sat in the drive. Then sat in his garage. Then sat at the lake house till he sold it in 2006.

                              The old 49 ford. I cut my teeth on one. Old V-8, standard shift, with overdrive. I know it would do 100+ down hill.
