Picking up a surgeon barrelled action in 260 built by GA Precision from a buddy. My daughter doesn’t have a deer rifle that fits. And I like messing with builds. So game on

What stocks are y’all running for kids?

Looking at chassis and stuff. Wanna keep it fairly cheap($500ish). I’m afraid to spend manners CS money and not like it. Needs to be magazine fed.

I would look at the MTD LSS Gen 2 chassis stock that uses AR style buttstock and they have detachable mags for it. https://mdttac.com/us_en/lss-chassis-system.html

Put an adjustable AR style buttstock on it to grow with her and also fit you. Then later a higher end buttstock can be added.

Also if you reload you can workup a load with lighter bullets and H4895 for light recoiling loads.

I doubt I reload for it. Never had a 260 so no brass or dies. She won’t shoot enough to justify it. IF I decide to I’ve got a bunch of SSTs and bergers lol

Probably pull the barrel and sell it and rebarrel to a 6 creed since that’s what I shoot most of the time now.

Don’t know an actual number but can measure it here shortly.

12 inches to center of trigger guard as it sits currently. That has all the spacers and a very thick recoil pad (how it was shipped). Without some of that you could go as low as 10.5-10 possibly.

He’s actually my nephew. I put it together for him earlier this year. He’s about to turn 6 next month, and already making great use of it!
