Thanks for the recipe. When I was a boy my Dad would make the family a meal he called “Slumgullian”, which sounded terrible but all us kids would chow down big time. Really never researched what went in it, and have not thought about it for a lot of years. Might just try your recipe tonight, thanks for posting.

Get some of Tony C’s dirty rice mix in the box just add the meat, good stuff, easy to make.

My grandma used to make this stuff she'd slice up potatoes, squash and zucchini in hamburger. I ate it over white rice a few times and it was really good. Don't really know if there's a name for it but it's kinda like stir fry.

                  Shepherds Pie
Brown venison, rinse, and set aside. This was only 1lb package
4 tablespoons dry onion soup mix
1/8 teaspoon of salt and pepper
                  1 tablespoon worsteshire (so) sauce
1 can cream of mushroom soup
                  1/3 cup of ho milk
                  4 tablespoons butter
                  3 russet potatoes
                  Cheddar cheese
16 ounces of frozen mixed vegetables
Mix onion soup mix, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and mushroom soup with ground venison.
Place mixture in individual bowls or casserole
Simultaneously you are boiling your potatoes
When they are soft, take off stove and drain, place in bowl.
Mash potatoes in bowl adding the 4 tablespoons of butter and another 1/8 tsp of salt and of pepper. Stir into potatoes 1/3 cup of milk.
Now take frozen mixed vegetables and layer over the top of venison mix
Now add a layer of potatoes over the vegetables.
Finally add your cheddar cheese over the potatoes.
Cook at 350 for 30 minutes or until cheese starts to brown.
Remove and let sit just a few minutes where family isn’t scalded. I made some cornbread to go with it.
This filled three bowls that were approximately 2 1/2” tall and about 4-5” in diameter so adjust recipe accordingly for number of people being served.

Add some boudin and pan sausage to your venison burger to give your burgers an extra kick.

I usually make boudin burgers with ground chuck but have done it with venison ground.

Chicken-fried burger patties with rice and brown gravy is pretty tasty.
