It’s really sad, I’ve been saying all along we should have been focusing all resources on those that are the most vulnerable instead of treating the general population the same in terms of how the virus is spread and how effects everyone. This whole thing is a botched job. Quarantine is also proving to be counterproductive to the general population, all this wash your hands and face mask does nothing but reduce your immunity system from developing a resistance.

Wonder why we haven't spent a couple of billion and really protected the most vulnerable? Pay quadruple time or whatever is needed to run 2 or 4 week shifts with nobody in or out of the nursing home.

Its almost like they want to see more deaths

Cuomo did a bang up job!

The governor's March 25 mandate said that nursing homes couldn't deny admission or readmission "based on a confirmed or suspected diagnoses of COVID-19." It also forbade nursing homes from requiring COVID-19 testing of incoming hospital transfers.

Many New York nursing homes have been ravaged by the pandemic, with more than 5,300 of their residents believed to have died from the outbreak.

But the governor hasn't been inclined to take responsibility for the nursing-home decision, or even explain why such an obviously mistaken policy wasn't abandoned much earlier.

In contrast, one of the first things Gov DeSantis did in Florida was to forbid hospitals from sending COVID patients back to nursing homes. As a result they have had less than 700 nursing home deaths and NY has had something like 5,000

Not breaking news that most of the stuff run by GOV officials is bad. That's why it's so dang frightening that peeps on the left want to be dependent so much GOV control. You would think tragedies like this would open peoples' eyes.

Mortality in nursing home residents: A longitudinal study over three years

Yearly mortality rate throughout the three-year observation period was 31.8%.

That sounds pretty high during normal times. 1/3 of nursing home patients die every year. How many more deaths is c-19 causing?

So is that 5300 more deaths than the average or 5300 deaths? They should lose about 2500/month based on the 31% stated earlier.
