Starting my Oklahoma public land bowhunt tomorrow. A buddy of mine has been pestering me to give public land a try for several years now. Have some vacation left so i'm giving it a whirl. Came up a month ago to scout.Found some big sign but very little food. Poor acorn crop and persimmons are long gone.
Gonna be a tough hunt for an old fat boy but we will see how it goes.
Friend doesn't want me to divulge too much info but i can tell you it will be within 50 miles of mcalester. Tomorrow will be boots on the ground trying to get as much intel as possible. Have a week to hunt so i'm more into setting up for quality hunts vs quanity sits. Will update as time allows. Let the games begin!
