    Industrial table base

Just picked up a pecan slab (40" x 90") for a dining room table. I don't want to go with a traditional farmhouse design for a base. I've been hunting around the web and really like the thought of an old industrial base to use. They will need to be around 28" tall and probably need 2, the slab is every bit of 250#.

Does anyone have any ideas outside of 1st Monday and running antique stores to find something like these?

You might try the Bonham flea market. Ask people there selling if they know where something like that might be found.

You might think I am crazy, but I would head to the scrap yard. Lots of folks, me not being included, would take something cool like those and scrap them.

Otherwise, I am no help. Other than requesting that you do a DIY once you find your bases.
      Good luck.

You may check out Trade Days in Fredericksburg or they have a really huge show up at Canton or Round Rock
