Smoking one this weekend for the family. What’s your favorite recipe for a dry rub

Smoked my first one last week with some stuff called butt rub it was really good, but I don’t have a ton of experience with them.

Salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

Sucklebusters, Hog Waller. Good heat with a sweetness to it. Plus it is made in Texas!

I've done several. I used to inject them all manners of juice, fluids, sugar and spices. Now I just give the outside a thin coat of mustard and liberal sprinkling of Code 3 Spices Rescue Rub. I use the same stuff on ribs as well. Never had a complaint yet. I get it at HEB.
