I was going to ask this the other day
My 5 & 3 year olds don't mind going fishing
              Can bait the hook
              I cast
But they can hook and tell in the fish
But they are both deathly afraid of that bluegill flapping on on the line!

When I get the fish to calm down sometimes I can get my girls to pet it like a puppy
But this has been going on for a few years now and they still are skeered of flapping fish

Haven't gun trained them yet but Easter weekend I'll start
That's what I wanted to ask
How did y'all teach your preschoolers about gun safety?
My old man just said "Don't touch it!" and that was enough for me but this is a new day and age

Texan- I did my kids with gun with bolt out. They carried it everywhere. If they covered anyone with muzzle we left. They learned quick. Then we went to bench shooting. Then plinking. Both my kids were pistol hunting (stalking) by 10 years old and I never remember one of them covering me

My 8 year old son loves to go and has been going since he was 4. My 4 year old daughter has been asking to go so this year I’ll take her as well. As long as they like going I’ll continue to take them

Good stuff everyone. Keep 'em coming. I think it's awesome seeing so many kids out hunting with the family, especially since a lot of leases are not kid friendly these days.

I started taking my two girls to the blind with me when they were 2 & 5, it was an adventure to say the least. I didn't have all of today's electronics to keep them occupied, just coloring books, dolls, and snacks....all in a 4x4 box. They're 29 & 32 now and still often talk about the good old days @ deer camp.

I love seeing all these kiddos in the outdoors. I get more enjoyment watching the Riley catch fish or shoot a deer than I do.
