What is your favorite camping tent?

We are in need of a new tent for camping. I was wondering what the TBH brain trust recommends?

    Our needs are...

Enough room for two full/queen mattresses.
    Holds up to wind.
Needs to be over 6 foot headroom.
    Under $300
    A "porch" would be great.

The new "easy up" tents are pretty dang cool. We took one on our CO trip and loved how fast it was to erect.

      Colman weather master 10-p
It takes 2 people to get it up but very roomy
And google up how to attach a small a/c unit if you have power

word! I have roughed it about as much as I want to at this point. AC and a hot shower.

did the BSA route with my son and we just used the easy up colmans that were almost disposable priced (cheaper than a hotel room)

grew up camping in the canvas wall tents with two poles and stakes and hemp ropes

Truck tent works best for me. Easy to put up and take down.

A Kodiak canvas 10x10 would be around 400 but you could have it for life. I have had too many issues with my Coleman tents. I now use an REI Base Camp 6 and a Kodiak 10 x 14. They both are rock solid and I have ridden out some nasty storms. The 10 X 10 Kodiak would fit the mattresses and they do offer a vestibule but I would recommend taking it down in high wind. I think the vestibule is another $80 or so. Whatever tent you get be sure to guy it out correctly, even the best tents will not last if not setup properly.

Yeah our Coleman broke a fiberglass roof support
I guess it’s a common problem because we were able to replace it
                Quick

Spent many a night in a REI base camp

Hard to beat a good wall tent as well...

Both will last you many a season!

Seek Outside floorless shelters if your spike camping. Light weight and easy.

Did you happen to read his list of requirements?
