Yep we get a lot of phantom bucks like that. You either get a quick glance at them while hunting or a pic or two on camera and that’s about it. Here lately it’s been a small ban of Axis does. Where about are y’all hunting?

This. I’ve seen 140 8 points that look like 160s more than I’ve seen 160 8s that look like 160 8s. Which is exactly why I love big 8s. Either way that’s a BBB.

He is large! Don't get me wrong, but 160 is gigantic for an 8 point. I do think he is in the 140s though, which is still a grown man 8 point!

Right? He's a beautiful buck, but a 160" 8 is a rare giant. That being said, if he gets there that would be awesome! I hope he does! I killed a 165" mainframe 8 2 years ago that had about 8" of trash, but his frame was huge with 36" of mass and nearly 22" spread. Only one way to know though...good luck!

Sorry- I might be the lone 160 and was a very early responder :0 I quickly glanced and thought he was a ten and based on frame and mass thought 160. Upon closer inspection I have him closer to 150.

I was looking on Google maps on 649 I saw a ranch el peyote close to where I am. And then I saw you put a picture that says el peyote thompsonville. Are there axis there?

Yeah that’s us. Only three seen in person only one on camera. I got a young doe on cam late in January. Hope they made the ice storm. We had plenty of protein and seed for them.

For the buck in the pic, age - my guy says 6+, Score - my quick math in my head says 152"-155"

He may be 150”. Buddy of mine shot a 140” 8 point and it was a toad. This guy seems a bit bigger, but he won’t go over 151. Loses out on brows.

i know these numbers are shy in some lengths, but not 15 inches shy.
22 inch mainbeams
32 inches mass
17 inside
11 2s
9.5 3s
5.5 1s

it takes ALOT to get a deer to 160, and a couple of G4s helps. just my .02
that is a helluva 8 point though!
