    Margaritas!

Looking for some new recipes to try! I searched and shocked there are only a few on the TBH.

I know, tequila, lime, and enjoy. But not every margarita is considered equal!

    let's hear some favorite recipes.

I picked this up in Mexico and it is great:

    In a shaker with Ice:
    2 shots of good tequila
    1 shot of triple sec
    2 big limes squeezed
    2 shots of OJ

shake and enjoy.....these are great. My wife likes them a little sweeter and puts a capful of Agave syrup

There are two I like that come from Tim Love's Lonesome Dove restaurants: the Jalapeño-Cucumber Margarita and the Mango Chamoy Rocks Margarita.

      Jalapeño-Cucumber Margarita
      INGREDIENTS
      8 1⁄8 inches slices jalapeños
      8 1⁄8 inches slices cucumbers
      1⁄4 cup sugar
8 ounces Cointreau liqueur or 8 ounces orange juice
      10 ounces milagro silver tequila
      2 limes, juice of
      4 lime wedges
      1 large ice cube
      kosher salt

Using a mortar and pestle, grind 4 slices jalepeno, 4 slices cucumber into 1/4 cup sugar. Pour mixture into a shaker. Add tequila, Cointreau and lime juice. Fill shaker with ice and shake heavily. Rub rim of 4 highball glasses with lime wedges and coat with salt. Fill with ice. Give the shaker one more shake and strain contents into each glass. Garnish with jalapeno and cucumber slices.

Still working on perfecting the Mango Chamoy Marg. Close, real close.

Triple sec should not be in their if you’re looking for the real thing.

you sure about that? Pretty sure the "original recipe" had orange liqueur in it.

I have found a tequila that has cucumber and jalapeño flavoring already. It is good. No doubt fresh is much better. I love the combination you mentioned.

I assume fresh jalapeños and not pickled?

1 cup water, 1 cup sugar in a sauce pan, stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Chop up 3 jalepanos seeds and all and add to the sauce pan, simmer on low for 15 mins. Strain off the jalepanos and let cool.

In a shaker, add a few tablespoons of the jalepano syrup, 1/2 cup fresh lime juice, 1/3 cup grand marnier, 1 cup of decent tequila, and full with ice. Shake until most of the ice is melted and your hand is frozen. This melting of the ice is important to the flavor. Pour over fresh ice. Store the jalepano syrup in the fridge for next time.

Adjust measurements of shaker ingredients to taste.
