Just finished this one up but it sold pretty quickly on instagram, so just showing it off here!

This one is 3/32", 154cm stainless steel blade and spring, 416ss bolsters, and jasper gemstone scales. 2 3/4" blade and 4" closed.

(I have several fixed blades for sale in the classifieds if you're in the market, and will be working on a few more folders before I get too busy with football season!)

Thank you, I really like the color too! Theres also a white with black vein that I like as well! Folders are a little trickier than a fixed blade!haha

I just pinch the blade with my fingers on all my pocket knives... i dont personally use nail nicks because I cant stand the feeling of my fingernail ripping off when the spring is tight!!haha BUT, I cut this blade/spring out about a year ago, before I could do nail nick's and it's just been sitting on my bench til last week. I went to TA Davisons' shop out in Mississippi and he showed me how HE makes them, so I started working on a new batch when I got back from his place. While my new batch of blades and springs were heat treating, I worked in this older one...Long story short, my next batch will all have nail nicks!

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I enjoy making these...still a learning process but it gives me a change up from the fixed blades I've been doing!

the knife is beautiful. But i have a comment, a negative one but not to your knife just in general.

when i was a little kids my parents didn't buy me knives are anything like that but i would buy them on my own when i went to the local hardware store. I always bought knives like the one you have shown at the top. The negative comment is the fact that as a kid i would use them and always have time close on my fingers when you pushed to hard on the back side of the knife. since then i have always wondered way non-locking knives were not a standard. Because as i got older (I'm talking 7 or 8) i would only buy buck style knives because they would lock.

Why do people carry knives like the ones you have that fold but do not lock?

Honestly, I have no idea....haha the slipjoints like the ones I made above, do not have a lock per se, so you have to be careful using it in a stabbing motion and make sure you apply downward pressure. If the pressure is applied to the cutting edge of the blade, then you dont have a problem with it closing on you. Slipjoints have been around for a LONG time. For me, it's a nostalgia thing with slipjoints...its the 1st kind of knife I carried, and it's what my granddad always had on him. I've never made a folding knife with a lock on it because it's a little more complicated. I intend on trying a lockback folder in the near future though! Good question!

It's a very nice looking knife. The lines are good the handle perfect and for some reason I like the blue but not as much as the one with the red slabs.

You ever make blades from D2?

Thank you! I've got some d2 steel a nearby knifemaker gave me because he didn't like it, I just haven't used it...I would have to do some research for heat treating it. I've got heat treating down for 1084, 0-1, and 154cm/cpm154. Those are the steels I use. I can make ya one w the red handles if ya want, just let me know! I'm headin for CO tomorrow so I'll be outta service for a bit!

Been doing some shop re-organization and havent made many but heres the last one I did. Cpm154 blade and spring, 410ss liner w mesquite handle and 416ss bolsters and oval shield. Blade is flat ground w a 600grit hand rubbed finish
