Default What's the lifespan of a FMJ in shots?

Assuming you shoot into a normal target and don't hit anything solid?

1000, 5000, 10000, more?

Eventually it will wear out, right?

Or lose it. I don't think they have a max amount of shots in them. You'd have to be really good to get 5 to 10k shots out of a arrow without losing or breaking it.

Tough question to answer. Should last a long time under normal conditions. Just remember to always check your arrows before a practice session and make sure they are not cracked or splintered or anything like that before you shoot. My "hunting" arrows dont last as long as my "practice" arrows because they usually hit rocks or limbs after pass through and get pretty nicked up.

I have a handful I bought in 2007 that have close to 2000 shots on them and still group. Refletched them all at least 3 times.

I haven't had mine as long as 100%, but they have been shot a BUNCH, and refletched a few times.

I did break one- backstop fell off the sawhorse table.
