About time for all the sidelined investors to start jumping back in the market now that theyíve missed some gains.

Yep. Got to a point of 15% cash but put most of it back to work early summer. Only have 2%ish cash on hand right now. Perhaps the markets are starting to factor in the high likelihood of the Rs winning at least one house of Congress thereby gridlock comes to Washington. The markets love gridlock.

Stayed in the whole time it's a long play for me. Got hammered in q2 seen a slight uptick since. Have moved some of my equity from CS to Encore Bank Shares...A growing bank that started in Arkansas...that I currently do business with. I think my returns there will more that make up for my losses in the market when they decide to sell.

I moved a lot of mine out of stocks into a cash positions today.... Maybe too early, but I still see a lot of risk to the down side between now and EOY. Think I'll stay conservative until after the September Fed meeting or another 10ish% market drop.

.75-1% increase and market panic/overreaction because market seems to think that they are nearly done raising... I agree they aren't done.

I'm mostly cash for the same reasons you state. Went 100 percent back in January except some option playing with GME mostly and about a month ago put back some money buying 5k shares of KMI at $16.53 now at $18.50 or so. Also, this afternoon, I'll be getting $1400 in dividends from KMI and I'm up for the year. But, I'm waiting for late August/early Sept to get back in full time, maybe October. I gotta time it pretty good, strike like a cobra.

Fed minutes are released at 1PM. If market freaks out it will tank faster than it went up. I would take out at least enough profits to BE plus 10% if it were me. My WAG

If markets rally (which they probably will) once FED says they are done raising but plan to hold steady with the new higher rates that will be stupid.

IMO - Earning will continue to go downhill with higher rates over the next 6-18 months. How can inflation be tamed and drop to 3% if markets stay near all time highs?

No way inflation is coming down yet. I don't see any pain anywhere. Everyone around me is spending like money grows on trees. Stocks moving like people are gambling their rears off also. Like BBBY

In the 80's it took a long time after rates peaked for the markets to hit bottom. No idea what trickery the FED is pulling this time though. I hear they are not even selling as much as they said they would be. Maybe they are saying they're dumping but are buying and vice versa. Became the worlds biggest pump and dumpers LOL

BBBY is a bankruptcy waiting to happen. They are 104% LTA. Its a hot potato
so don't be left holding when it is filed.

No, duh? You mean losing over $9 per share isn't a good thing? Of course it's a terrible investment. I wouldn't buy 1 share of it, but I just added 30 calls and now have 90 calls. We'll see, thats why its called gambling when you be playing with options. I made good money on GME but haven't played with it since the 4-1 split, keeping an eye on it.

What do you guys think about AMC Entertainment stocks? Since I saw what it did during Covid I’ve been wanting to get in. Closed at 9.14 Friday and I suspect it will go lower. Been in the 30s most of the year. If it hits 5 I have money burning a whole in my wallet. I’ve read some about AMCs new APE stock and really don’t understand it. I’ve never bought a meme stock. What’s y’all’s vision or advice? Thanks in advance.

Southwest at that price is interesting but all the airlines cancelling flights isnt a good look for the industry. If you're thinking travel is going to pick back up, then ABNB is also at a good price. I'm personally sitting on the side for travel stocks.

My best stock pick right now is saving my portfolio. CVX - got back in it in Feb 2021 around 95. The gains on it has offset my losses of other stocks.

What event do you think will drive the prices higher? Or you just hoping the reddit type traders will drive it higher again?

I'm personally concerned with mid terms coming and democrats worried about the out comes that there will be a spike in cases and some places will shut down again to push the mail in ballots again. That would not be good for AMC

The reason I see it going back up is based on the past trends and hopefully the red wave coming in November.

My opinion is to always avoid meme stocks unless you gamble up front the first time and nail the first big run. They almost never rocket back up a second time.

Shorts on s&p 500 are at the highest level in two tears. Powell has said explicitly he will raise rates until we get to target inflation. Which means crashing the economy!

Friday was brutal! What’s going to happen this week? I still am 90% percent out of the market I was beginning to think I had missed the down turn but now maybe not? It’s like trying the catch smoke out of the air.

I think I am going to start buying a small amounts on these big down turns and start going back into the market. What y’all think?

Who knows, right? I was reading some stuff yesterday that said the June bottoms may get tested again but the thought is that was about as low as the markets would go.

If you are sitting on a ton of cash, I dont think you can go wrong taking a portion of it and investing in great companies anytime there is a large drop like Friday. If only we had a crystal ball! Good luck to ya.

Still into real estate investments and have no intention of returning to stocks. I sold a lot of my holdings over the last year which amounted to taking profits and was planning to stay in cash except for 1 MF deal on which we did a 1031. In the mean time I found deals which made sense so I am back near 100% invested. The difference to me is that I can have a plan to increase value of my holdings with real estate. With stocks I depend on someone else or cycles to increase the value of my holdings.

I bought in with about 60% of my cash between end of day Friday and this morning. If we get a good bounce between now and fed speak I will close out, but I'm good with all positions being long term if needed.

Yes. There is nothing good about this economy, nothing and, it is going to get worse. Also, if the present moronic government wants to totally ruin this country, they will dump all or some of the stock they own, anytime they want to. This is something we have never been through, ever. Personally, I have been cash since January and dabble a little from time to time. I am up YTD but all cash since Wednesday.

I don't see how the markets won't set new lows. Not with the FED raising rates more or even if they just hold steady.

But IMO one never should go all cash. Always keep at least 25-40% in the markets for the long run unless you'll need the money within 5 years.

AAPL earning will go to complete crap before this is all over... 3-6 months from now is my guess. It takes time to get all the excess money out of the system. But we know it's being sucked out - we can all see that.

I really don't think mid-terms matter all that much long term. Markets may do an intra-day pop or dump but they just need to work through inflation to get better.

With the way the GOV is printing money how is inflation ever going to get tamed unless interest rises dramatically? At this point, we all now that the current administration is not trying to do anything but try to spend their way to stay in power and fill their pockets in the process.

I hate to be so negative; I just don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. What a freaking economical mess. How would the Fed go about taking/pulling money out??
