Default Whoís had Covid?

My wife and I both tested positive late this last week after a contractor at work tested positive for it. No telling where we got it. Our 4 year old seems to have it too but not doing too bad so far. Me and the wife are not having a good time to say the least lol.

Docs seem to just want you in a black hole. No help. Just say go to ER if it gets bad. Bunch of bull****. Whole body hurts. Chest pains. My wife seems to be worse off than I am. If you had it, what helped?

Sorry to hear that. Two things I’ve heard that can help are Tylenol, and lately they have said laying on your stomach helps with the breathing.

One guy I hunted with two years ago had it, he apparently just had a fever for a couple days. Only one I know personally.

Edited, realized I had the medicine recommendation backwards.

I think my daughter has it now. She's an infectious disease NP and got exposed on the 6th in a hospital. They have to share PPE and while in a room treating a patient an overhead water pipe busted and she had to move the patient and her PPE got compromised. She's not doing great but not bad enough to go to the hospital. I'll keep y'all in my prayers.

Pretty sure my crew had it back in March...wife is getting the anti-body test this week & I'll likely follow suit if she's positive. We'll be donating plasma as that seems to be the ticket for those who end up with it hard core.

My BIL, nephew & niece all caught it but my sister continues to test negative in SA.

I had it and let me tell you, it was not a fun time for me! I spent 13 days in the hospital and from what they told my wife I was close to meeting the Lord. My wife had it also and she quarantined at home. We are doing good now and hope to stay that way!

Man sorry to hear that. It’s getting bad quick! A few people at work just got it last week. One guy actually worked with it all week and got tested Friday as positive. He just felt tired and had a sore throat and was over it by the end of the week. Crazy how it’s different for everyone.

If the docs don’t give us some answers pretty dang quick I’m gonna get real unfriendly. The place I took my test at gave me a Z pack. My wife went to Baylor Scott and white and had a ton of calls about them wanting to track stuff and all that. She wanted everything private and they ignored her ever since. Makes my blood boil.

They want us to stay home. But we can’t get help or info. Info on the internet is pretty contradicting. Most is about how to not get it. Not how to help with symptoms once you do get it.

Matt,

Start taking loads of Zinc & order you some El Guapo Tonic Syrup that is loaded w/ quinine...you can get some lighter doses of quinine in tonic water to start off with but you have to look for it on the label.

Told my BIL about it when he first got it & said it worked wonders & wish I had known back when.

I believe I had it in January. I had all the symptoms and tested negative for the flu. They told me then that there had been a lot of people coming in with my symptoms and nobody was getting a positive test back for the flu. Lasted 2-3 weeks, medicine did not help at all.
I’d love to know if that is what I had, but at this point will never know for sure.

I tested positive a little over two months now. The only symptom I had was loss of smell. I had zero fever and felt fine. My wife on the other hand had the fever, body aches and chills. Her fever subsided and was gone after about three days. My sense of smell came back in about two weeks. I had to get a negative test in order to return back to work. If you dont have underlying health issues such as diabetes or asthma you should sail right by it.
The hardest part was having to document every hour for the health department, that was BS

Several guys at work have tested positive in the last week and not sure they have figured out anything. A couple said it’s just a sore throat and one just got hospitalized. Very random

They donít respond anymore. ďGo to the ERĒ is a bit extreme. Donít get me wrong. Itís not fun. But not something Iíd say is worthy of an ER trip. They literally gave zero info on how to help any symptoms.

My uncle had it In Nicaragua. Just barely recovered.

Was in the hospital for about a week and said he saw 19 people be carried out in caskets in the ward he was in in 7 days.

Like I told Matt, if you don't know your blood type, find out what it is. Studies are showing that blood type can strongly dictate the severity and duration of this sickness and help you plan your course of action should you catch it.

https://www.umms.org/coronavirus/wha...-covid-at-home

How Can I Treat Coronavirus Symptoms?
The main symptoms of the novel coronavirus are fever, cough and shortness of breath.

For a Fever
Take a fever reducer. If you choose to or if your fever is very high, you can take a fever reducer. Acetaminophen is what is usually recommended. While ibuprofen is also a fever reducer, there is some concern that it may not be safe to take with the novel coronavirus. More research needs to be done to know for sure.

Stay hydrated. Fevers usually cause sweating, which means loss of water from your body. Drink lots of fluids (preferably water or juice and not soda or high sugar beverages that might make you thirstier). Caffeinated beverages are not recommended.

Rest. Your body needs energy to fight the virus. Just rest up and let your body do its job.

For a Cough
Sip on drinks throughout the day. Not only will this keep your throat moist and comfortable, it will help keep you hydrated.

Drink warm beverages, like tea or broth. These heat up the airways, keep you hydrated and break up any mucus you might have in your throat and upper airway.

Try a teaspoon of honey in hot tea or hot water. A little bit of honey tends to soothe a sore throat. However, children under 1 year old should not try honey.

Breathe in steam. Use a hot shower, humidifier, vaporizer or other means of making steam. It will soothe a sore throat and open your airways, making it easier to breathe.

Gargle salt water. While it is not scientifically proven to help, many people swear that salt water helps their sore throat. There is no harm in trying, and it might help you. Use 1 teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces of warm water. Make sure you spit it out and disinfect the sink afterward.

Eat a frozen treat. The coldness may help numb the pain and soothe your throat if it is sore from coughing.

Suck on cough drops, lozenges or hard candy. These will keep your mouth and throat moist.

Try cough medicine. If you have a wet cough with lots of mucus, you want to take an expectorant to help get the mucus out. If you have a dry cough, a cough suppressant is what you want. Make sure you choose the right one.

For pain, try acetaminophen. Sometimes a lot of coughing can be painful. A pain reliever can take the edge off.

For Shortness of Breath
Take slow breaths. Slowing things down can help you start breathing again properly.

Try relaxation or meditation techniques. These will help calm the body and get your breathing more regular. Additionally, having shortness of breath may leave you feeling anxious. These relaxation techniques will help fight the anxiety.

If you were previously prescribed an inhaler, you may need to use it. Pay attention to how your chest feels and what symptoms your inhaler was prescribed for. Do not use someone else's inhaler – only use one that is prescribed to you. Make sure you disinfect the mouthpiece after every use.

Definitely a surge going on, boss has it after going on vacation, several people in town have in now, several in relatives towns also, all but one are doing well. The one thats hospitalized was old, had underlying conditions was having pnemonia like symtoms but seems to be stable. IMO if you young and healthy without underlying medical conditions its much ado about nothing, if your old and sick its a different story. Eerybody gonna get it eventually, need to just work to herd immunity, if your old and sick thats unfortunate and I would be locked down in that case only, otherwise life goes on.
