Well Iím back in Georgia for another hunt. Looking for some better luck this year. Last year ended with a blood trail that had nothing at the end of it. But good times nonetheless.
We actually got to hunt a little this morning until the rain became too much. There were some deer moving and I managed to see two does and a small buck. Of course during the middle of today I was practicing at camp and saw a 140 class buck on the prowl. So we got dressed and headed out. There was a doe in the greenfield when I arrived and tons of scrapes, rubs and sign. Looking forward to a great hunt.

This place always has the opportunity to shoot a 150-170 class buck. Of course Iím not passing up anything that I would shoot on the last day. I just got some news at work and looks like my hunting could be over for the season. So this is the weekend.

And the deer keep coming. That rain had them laid down this morning. And this rising pressure has them moving. I actually think the morning will be even better. Supposed to be 41 with a 30.10 rising pressure. Perfect conditions.

I have about a 130-135 class buck that is dogging a doe and chasing off would be troublemakers 100-120 class. This buck is huge just not gonna score well at all. But he is a bull of a deer. Theyíre on the other end of the field and if they come closer Iíll get a pic.

Time to get back at it. Temps in the low 40ís with NW 5 mph winds.

Iím going back to a set that I hunted last year and passed on s beautiful 10 that I thought was too young. It would be the perfect answer to good management if he shows today. Hereís pics of him last year.

That lasted about 10 seconds. As soon as the horns hit a small buck came running. Also had a 115Ē 8 and about 150Ē 10. Neither came within range. Now that the woods are stirring Iím gonna sit still fit a while. Just heard some bucks fighting in the distance.

Perfect conditions. I know that every deer is up on their feet moving. I need big boy to swing by.

Iím sitting on the edge of an oak flat with a food plot about 100 yards from me to the north. Thereís a ridge that rises out to the east that had 90% of the pines removed about 3 years ago. Seems like the deer love to travel right on the edge of this oak flat, so Iím in the prime spot.

Afternoon hunt is slow. Now movement. Trying a new set today where I had good pictures of a giant 10 from yesterday afternoon. I suppose itís just too much to expect him to show again today. Crazy thing is that this field was full of deer yesterday and today nothing. Thatís hunting.
