Thanks, just curious

Suppose to be a complete year around lawn/weed spray and granular service....preemergent, fertilizer, sulfur, etc. 8 treatments minimum w/ unlimited treatments in between if requested

I can't imagine the cost of that with their labor.

Unlimited free treatments in between? Ideally shouldn't need any if done right

I kicked them off my property. Not good here. Other places maybe better. Bad experience.

Probably depends on location. It’s a franchise and will depend on who owns it. I tried them, fired them and learned on my own how to take care of mine.

It all depends on your local guy. The system works but the franchise owners are not held very accountable.

I’ve literally built a business fixing what trugreen screws up. The problem with them is that they try to use a one size fits all approach. They treat every yard the same regardless of the turf type. Some guys get lucky, most end up paying me to fix

So I paid that same for trugreen as a local service that does 6 treatments. A few of my neighbors have the local service and their yards aren't that great. Main reason I did it was was to make the wife happy. I don't want to hear about spraying the yard over and over. We'll see how it turns out this year.

I tried them and had very little to zero difference in my yard.

I used Scotts Bonus S every 2-3 months with plenty of water and my yard went from crap to yard of the year! Be ready to mow a lot though!

What type of turf do you have? Any chance you have the time and willingness to take photos before they start and during the year and post here?

with them using chemical fertilizers and such, you will typically see an improvement the first year...after that it tends to go downhill...Usually they charge you for services to improve the bad conditions and damages that the very chemicals they use have caused

I personally think they do way more harm than good
Best of luck

Yard was all fesue and we had someone spray it a few years ago and accidentally killed a bunch of it so now a lot of it is filled in with Bermuda.

I can definitely report back on how the yard did and if the wife was happy with it...funny thing is I have a plant biotechnology degree and really don't care about it as long as it's cut and the sprinklers are running enough to keep it somewhat green

None of my neighbors are happy. They wonder what my secret is, I try to kill it and it seems to make it stronger.

I hand toss fertilizer once or twice a year and I’ll be darn if I’m gonna water it.

Go buy Ferti-Lome For All Seasons 16-0-8 1 bag will cover 5000 sq foot. This is all that you need for your yard.

Would be an interesting experiment on before and after pics.
My yard is bad and I’m starting this year to follow Randy Lennon’s guide to see how it turns out.
Good luck to you.

Tried them for one year. As stated in several posts above, my yard looked better after I started to care for it myself.

If you have mostly bermuda I would get some GrazonNext HL and spray the yard with that. It will kill everything except the grass. You can spray under trees with no worry also. Don't spray on a very hot day and watch the wind. Fertilize with Nitrophos 19-4-10 every 2-3 months, keep on a good watering schedule and you will have a beautiful lawn. It won't happen over night but it will happen.

X 2

I'm in my 3rd year with them and am very happy.

I used to do all the work myself and was pretty picky. They made my yard look even better.

I have never struggled with appearance of my yard. Last year I thought I had a few dry spots in the heat of summer, never recovered. Used to fungus in the fall, but this started in June. Only in the front yard, never got a good diagnosis. Large (20í) dead spots. It wasnít a fungus, wasnít wilt, wasnít chinch bugs.
I follow Randyís plan mostly, add some bonus s in the spring for weed control.

I tried GroGreen several years ago. Didn’t notice any changes (good or bad). Started using Scott’s or whatever every 2 months and my yard was in much better shape.

Got to have a license to buy grazon next, and it's not labeled for lawns

I had a great lawn but I couldn't kill the horse herb. I hired them to kill it. They did but I began to get new weeds that I had not seen before. I think I had them for about a year.

As requested here is the first pic. I'm going to try to take a picture of this spot in my yard every month or 2. First spray was a few days ago and I ran the sprinkler this morning. Picture quality isn't that great after resizing it.

I have used and for the company in Fort Worth and Tyler for 17 years. I have had the same technician since 2017 now. Iím pleased with his efforts. Iím not as particular with weeds I am more concerned with overall health. He is quick to attack my Brown Patch and I have not seen a chinch bug.

A healthy lawn will not allow weeds to grow. If weeds are growing your lawn is lacking

I probably have 6 weeds on 32,000 sqft of turf. Thatís not bad.

No direct experience with them but I know my dad has gotten a lot of customers that were not happy with them. Although my dads service was not much cheaper the quality of service was much better according to the guys who switched over.

I hit my Bermuda yard with the weed n feed Lowe’s sells 3x a year, I mow once every 5 days or so and I keep it watered the right amount. I only have to pick out a handful of weeds every year since my neighbor is a bum. My grass looks amazing. Mowing often will do wonders.
