My boy Jake was able to drop the hammer on a LF giant 8 with his bow yesterday morning.

Made a perfect shot right in the boiler room slightly quartered away. Ran a whole 53 yards!!

His biggest buck and first with a bow. Going to be hard to beat an 8 of this magnitude. 162 5/8” gross and 27 5/8” wide.

He makes his own film on his hunts so I’ll post a link once we have it done from this trip

Congratulations to Jake! He set the bar high by getting that beast of a buck as his first with a bow. I guess he has already picked out a place on the wall where he wants it to go.

Not sure what that is but I’ve noticed it. I wouldn’t brag about not maximizing nutrition honestly.

Most people that kill big bucks and brag about not feeding protein, are shooting their neighbors deer, who are feeding protein! My .2 cents!

When Mother Nature helps you when you have mature deer, you have a great chance of having great bucks. There was a lot of rainfall in Mexico this year.

I’ve hunted the vast majority of my years down south without supplemental feed. Hunted 4 years on a 30k ranch that was surrounded by twice that much that also didn’t supplement protein. Several good deer taken over those years. We went through years of turn over in groups some more tight on money than others. Don’t believe there’s a new trend just a different size in funds ones willing to spend. To each there own
