Not quite what I was after

But I’ll take it as a consolation prize.

My #1 buck was a no show all weekend. #2 showed up yesterday morning about 8am. He’s a little 3.5yr old 8 thats the only other buck over 2.5 I’ve seen on camera. I decided to let him walk. Then watched him for 5 minutes and decided since I only had two days to hunt, I was going to shoot him. Put my hand on the release and the wind swirled and everything left.

Sat yesterday evening and almost sweated to death. Had an axis button buck come in to 40 yards or so, and then started eating cedar/juniper berries and melted into the trees.

This morning was all does, yearlings, and two little 1.5yr old bucks. Looked up and she was heading my way. There was an older doe with a prettier hide out there too, but this one was at 16 yards and not 80. My arrow was 45 yards from where I shot her and she only made it 50. Almost shot her a hair too high. Got both lungs and her trachea, but much higher and might have spined her.
