      Read & read. Still havent figured those two out. Which one is present tense and which one is past tense? And my Thermos bottle. Keeps cold stuff cold and hot stuff hot. How does it know?

                Are and or, not even close to the same. But I see a member posting all the time using “are” when it should be “or”.

                Peaked instead of piqued. “ You’ve peaked my interest!”

                      Paid or payed is the past tense of pay depending on the sense of pay. The first sense is the usual one of giving someone money while the second sense is to seal (the deck or seams of a wooden ship) with pitch or tar to prevent leakage. You should almost always use paid unless you are in the wooden boat business.
