Looks like it’s been a pretty good teal year In South Texas. Saw a ton of hunters heading out yesterday morning in El Campo on the way to Houston.

Yesterday morning only saw on bird at the lease tank and was able to take it.
Today I've seen 5 and have 3 on ground. Hopefully another group moves in.

Are you part of the group/guides that hunt pin oak farms? Always seeing them post piles of birds from opening day until closing day

Another great day hunting with my son. Bird numbers way down ,but 64 degrees & a nice breeze made it right! We ended up with 7. Lot of hunters on the prairie ,but shooting shut down quick. We hunted till 9:45 & didn't hear a shot for at least the last 45 minutes. Could be challenging the next few days!

We probably saw 1000 birds this morning, they are thick way down south. Hoping to finish strong next weekend

Weíre right off the coast, arroyo city/port Mansfield. We havenít hunted the bay but I think the bay is holding enough birds that we are getting a lot to stay in our spots.

I'm going to try to make it over there for regular season. Problem is, I've only got access to a 10' plastic boat with a 5hp outboard. Can't make it to far with it if I launch at the Arroyo City park. I do like that last cut to the right just before you enter the main bay. Was holding good numbers last Feb.

I know the one you speak of, never been back in there before. I used to have a friend that hunted there and he did ok. We usually hunt rattlesnake bay but last year birds werenít thick in there like the year before. Going to try and find a couple new spots this year. Do you usually shoot quite a few in that last cut?

I'm a first timer. Last season I went twice at Mathis and got the bug. So I started looking for them on every fishing trip afterwards.
My bro is one who knows that area.

Cool! I was thinking of going to check that little spot for teal season but once I found a spot in freshwater I never made it out there. Iíll head out to the bay couple days before big duck season to find the areas the birds wanna be in.

We had birds all morning buzzing the marsh and made a quick three man limit. We didnít get our first bird to work until 7:30 but had solid groups of 20+ decoying which made for a great shoot.

Nice shoot in Garwood. Me & the pup enjoying life together talking things over! LOL! Felt & looked like a real duck hunting day today. Fair amount of birds for a Monday.

TS Beat dumped about 5 inches since yesterday so EVERYTHING was flooded. Didn't xpect much, but got on the ones that came in & got my limit. Rain let up about the time I got there & just a light rain or drizzle while I was hunting.

Me & pup did it again. Enjoyed the outdoors. Ended up with 6. Had a sailer we found after I picked everything up. Lots of high teal heading north of my place. Saw my 1st gadwall of the new season & it worked in beautifully. Seeing spoons & pintails every hunt.

Another great hunt in Garwood. Had DROEBUCK from here as the guest of honor along with Miss Betty. Donnie is a standup guy! A pleasure to enjoy a hunt with. Birds were working the decoys real funny today. Didn't want to commit like normal. Also started out slow, then big flocks started workin. Lots of birds high again flying north.

Depression settling in. Only 2 more days. Great hunt this AM in Garwood. Complete opposite of yesterday. Birds worked great & almost no big bunches. Took my time & let birds come & go & was still done by 7:15. The road looked almost like opening day with all the hunters out. If we can just keep a few of these birds, it will be a great finish to this season.

Saw a big wad of specks, today. Few bootlips and pintails mixed in with them.

Ready for season to get here.
