I hope you cut the lure and didnít just undo the snap ring. Sometimes I wonder if fishing barbless is worth it just for this situation.

My grandson and I catch a lot of catfish and sandbass. When he was younger I made him use barbless because he had difficulty getting the hooks out of the catfish as there's lots of cartilage in the corners of their mouths. I mash them down a lot too. I bet when I get one stuck like that I will wish it was barbless.

Took buddy to the ER this morning. They used these snazzy pliers and ripped both hooks right out.

It works well! First hand experience! Even tied the jig back on and put another 15 or so in the boat before I broke it off!!
