Love that response.
And Ausmus just tarnished the astros relationship...for what?
That move isnt going to save that job for him.
Douchbaggery given the context and player involved.

Everytime Ausmus comes to Houston, its like he makes a solid point to be past his Astro days. And if Jake would'nt have ducked he would have a broken cheek bone.

No. If we were just playing bad I would be more upset. Injuries throughout the the back end of the staff and the minors have been a problem. Lunhow will make some type of move. We’ll be back 4 deep with solid quality starters and the bullpen will be tweaked. Correa and Diaz back by the 26th. Not too worried, but I do see why you are.

Who is it going to be? Cole with 101 mph to Albert? James at 100? Osuna? If McCullers was pitching it would be a guarantee

Cole. If James or Osuna are in I’d rather not put free guys on base late in the game. I think Osuna would for sure drill someone though!

If it is Cole, it will be his last batter of the day. I bet he gets tossed (as well as Hinch and Ausmus) when it happens. There likely won't be a warning today.

Curious why Evan Gattis doesn’t have a job. Averaged 23 HRs a season and .250BA

He can't play a defensive position, his 2018 stats would make him one of the 4 worst DH's in baseball, and there is no real reason to expect improvement.

For the teams that could be marginally improved by him, there are legitimate reasons why he should not be getting AB's. Tigers, Jays, and Sox aren't competitive and need to give the AB's to younger players or guys on massive contracts that they can't get rid of, and the A's because they have to believe that Khris Davis will come around and be better than Evan Gattis.

The curse of Gattis will haunt the Stros for dumping him and keeping Tyler White.

Although he wasn’t great, he played a decent catcher. I would take his short comings defensively vs Max Stassi

I just watched it, he wore one in the back, didn’t complain, took his base, let it be over.

You don’t want to see that ball so high, but I doubt that’s where he wanted it.

He was a very, very bad defensive catcher that could not be relied upon in a playoff series to man the position defensively.

Stassi on the other hand is a plus defensive backup catcher. He can't hit, but backup catcher's rarely do.

No. Heaney was the starter. Actually him and Marisnik grew up playing ball together somehow and then came up through the Marlins at the same time. They were pretty good friends. So Ramirez came in the 6th, got him leaning out on two sliders away then chinning him. Part of the reason they got a lengthier suspension I think. Glad to see them serve some time. Marisnik has been calling Lucroy all week checking in on him.

Looking at the schedule and they have the Astros playing another late game tomorrow at the end of a 7 game road trip before returning home. This is in the middle of 13 games in a row coming out of the break. Why in the hell would they not give them a day game tomorrow?

Im pretty sure a cardboard cutout of Stassi would produce more offense. When you stack White and Stassi together in a lineup that is where innings go to die.
