        Depends on what you're streaming, and what other bandwidth usage might be going on while you're streaming.
        If streaming is the only thing you're doing at that particular moment, and it's on a single device, 5mbps is enough for most applications, as long as your latency is under about 50 ms.
        4k can use about as much 30+ under some circumstances.

          I am not an expert, but will give my experience. I would recommend getting the fastest that fits your pocketbook. Especially if you have kids, grandkids , etc. that might be visiting at times.

          Amazingly, even though we only had 3mbps, we could do limited streaming. But if my wife got on her ipad and I got on my surface, it would start buffering.

          We went with the 400mbps since it had unlimited data. The 100mbps package had limits.

                  Ran a speed test last night. My mb went down to 12 from 17 a few days ago. Ping was 8. What does that mean?

                    For those stating they are getting fiber how far out in the sticks are ya. I am 20-30 miles from high speed. 12 mbps is best I can get via wireless.
