what size rifling for 22-250?

looking at buying a savage 110,22-250 heavy barrel/26" barrel,it shows 2 different twists of rifling 9&12. what's the reason for the different sizes? able to use larger bullets? mostly used for long range prairie dogs and coyote's. thanks for any info in advance.

If you're going to shoot bullets up to around 60-64 gr the 1-12 will work fine. If going heavier, go with the 1 - 9.
